Team

Our team comprises scientists at the Vienna University of Technology, engineers and financial experts who decided to utilize their scientific power to make solar energy accessible worldwide, not only by consuming, but also by enabling to manufacture solar energy components everywhere.

Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr.techn. Ahmed Adel

Founder / CEO

Dr. Adel earned Masters degree and Doctorate (with distinction) in Mechanical Engineering from the Vienna University of Technology, specializing in advanced and alternative energy systems. The Master thesis was on the development and construction of a concentrated photovoltaic pilot plant with parabolic troughs. The doctoral thesis focused on the development of a new generation of parabolic trough collectors to maximize the local content in developing countries. Dr. Adel is a holder of several patents in the field of the Concentrated Solar Power, and the inventor of SOLABOLIC® technology. From 2006 to 2008 he was a project manager at a leading company of energy services and constructions in the Middle East. Later on, he was responsible for the factory expansion project of Böhler Welding Group of Voestalpine, including the installation of a new production line in South East Asia, and the optimization of production processes in regards to the “Lean Manufacturing” philosophy. Dr. Adel worked as a research assistant at Vienna University of Technology, Institute for Energy Systems and Thermodynamics. He founded SOLABOLIC® in 2013 based on his own patented technology. Parallel to his position as CEO of SOLABOLIC®, he works as a professor at the Austrian Federal Higher Technical Institute for Education and Experimentation, TGM.

Ao.Univ.Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr.techn. Manfred Grafinger

Dr. Grafinger ist the head of the research area for mechanical engineering, informatics and virtual product development at the Vienna University of Technology. He obtained his doctorate in 1996 at the Vienna University of Technology with outstanding success. For the dissertation, Dr. Grafinger developed a non-linear finite element system for the investigation of deformations on Bowden cables. Amongst other topics and besides his teaching activities at TU Vienna, he performs weight optimization of mechanical components, structure simulation and programming of mechanical engineering software. In the course of his scientific activities at the Institute for Engineering Design and Product Development of the Vienna University of Technology, he has written several publications dealing with the following topics: Deformations and loads of Bowden cable sheaths; Geometrical representation of general gears for screw machines; Development and optimization of rotor gears with the profile pitch function; Integrated FE simulation in product development.

Univ.Ass. Dipl.-Ing. Dr.techn. Rainer Riegler

earned his Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2017 with a focus on numerical methods of mechanics while working as a design engineer at ANDRITZ AG, Vienna. During this time most of his time was spent on projects revolving around Plug Screw Feeders. Amongst other things he achieved quality and lead-time improvements in the design process of plug screw feeders, development of double screw PSF and design tool improvements. Academically at the Institute for Engineering Design and Product Development of the Vienna University of Technology he is working on numerical simulations and design tools for rotary screw compressors and solar collectors.

Stefan Nolte, MA

studied Business Consultancy at the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt and at the Yonsei University in Seoul/ South Korea. He holds a Master of Arts in Business degree. After gaining first professional experience working in the Automotive industry for Volkswagen and Porsche in South America and Austria he focused his career on investment banking and corporate finance advisory. He spend several years in the area of business development and mergers & acquisitions (M&A) in Frankfurt/Germany as well as in Vienna/Austria. Through management and in-depth exposure to numerous M&A buy and sell side cross border transactions he gained significant insight to the challenges and drivers in the solar industry.
