Design Engineer (m/f)
Responsibilities:
Design and optimization of mechanical components for a Parabolic Trough System. Components include steel construction, fixture and thermal components
Analysis of mechanical systems, including Finite Element analysis for structural, fatigue, thermal and vibration
Create 3D M-CAD Models
Develop manufacturing drawings in accordance with applicable standards
Construct and oversee technicians in construction of developed systems
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
Confer with system engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information
Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications
Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
Qualifications:
MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or equivalent with focus on Structural Engineering and Mechanical Design
Excellent skills of 3D CAD software, in particular the modelling and FE analyses aspects
Very good German and English language skills
Good experience in product design
Experience in simulations of wind loads is advantageous
Knowledge of material and manufacturing process
Knowledge of the Concentrated Solar Power (CSP), especially parabolic trough systems, is advantageous
