Responsibilities: - Design
and optimization of mechanical components for a Parabolic Trough
System. Components include steel construction, fixture and thermal
components
- Analysis of mechanical systems, including Finite Element analysis for structural, fatigue, thermal and vibration
- Create 3D M-CAD Models
- Develop manufacturing drawings in accordance with applicable standards
- Construct and oversee technicians in construction of developed systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
- Confer
with system engineers and other personnel to implement operating
procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical
information
- Research and analyze customer design proposals,
specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility,
cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications
- Specify
system components or direct modification of products to ensure
conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
Qualifications: - MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or equivalent with focus on Structural Engineering and Mechanical Design
- Excellent skills of 3D CAD software, in particular the modelling and FE analyses aspects
- Very good German and English language skills
- Good experience in product design
- Experience in simulations of wind loads is advantageous
- Knowledge of material and manufacturing process
- Knowledge of the Concentrated Solar Power (CSP), especially parabolic trough systems, is advantageous
